Take Action to Protect E-Bike Access in Utah

Utah’s state senate is considering a bill that, if passed, would negatively impact bike riding throughout the state by restricting where electric bicycles can ride. Help stop this negative bill from passing by sending your senator a letter TODAY.

If signed into law, this bill would:

  • REQUIRE E-BIKES TO REGISTER AS AN OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE: This bill would require almost every e-bike rider in Utah to obtain an OHV permit to ride anywhere, including on any public land, trail, street or highway. This would prevent many riders from enjoying bikes as an everyday part of their life.
  • BAN MOST E-BIKES FROM “DIRT TRAILS”: This bill would create confusion for e-bike riders by banning most e-bikes from a new and undefined term called “dirt trails”. This undefined term will also make it more complex for land managers to make decisions regarding e-bike access.

Use this form to send your senator a letter today in opposition to this bill.
